Tube Sites Is Where It’s At
I hear people in the porn industry, those from production companies and networks specifically, complain a lot about tube sites. The complaint is of course that the tube sites offer their content for free and bank on traffic to make money of advertising.
I use the word “their” very loosely there as none of the content belongs to them, they don’t actually produce anything. All of their content is ‘borrowed’ from elsewhere. Sometimes it’s the content from the networks themselves but in those cases it’s only ever heavily edited scenes, more often than not the trailers for scenes and such.
The balance of tube site content are videos that is not the property of any exclusive production house but rather those that get kick-backs from the advertising income of these very tube sites.
So my point is that even though there certainly is a case to be made that tube site cost networks money it is from a point of greed. You networks don’t get to grab the entire market and make everyone pay while tube sites exist. While they have exclusive content networks will always have a market which should be sufficient but like everyone in business ever, they want it all.
